Rod Lauredo

I am a 51-year-old investment-banker living in Palmetto Bay, Florida (a far-south suburb of Miami) and working on South Beach. I have a wife, Susan, and two teenage sons, Malcolm and Oliver. I have never really not-run. Started as a teenager, ran through college, ran through my five years as a U.S. Army officer (mostly in what was then "West Germany" where as a Captain I commanded an artillery unit), kept running on my return to civilian life in 1984, have run through 25 years of marriage, etc. But did not start racing until 1992 and since then have done 17 marathons (latest was Cleveland this May) and the usual mix of shorter stuff. Occasionally I have been talked into doing triathlons, starting in the mid-90's and culminating in doing Ironman Coeur d'Alene in 2005 and then Ironman Arizona in 2006. My tris have always been half-hearted: when I'm on the bike I wish I were running instead. Swimming I actually enjoy.
